About Focus28

Focus28 combines some of the best research and thinking in physical and emotional health in order to provide bariatric patients with a single, comprehensive and integrated approach to balanced living.

Using the four key elements of weight loss - nutrition, fitness, image and empowerment - we can help you achieve your dream and sustain it successfully for the rest of your life.

Our History

Focus28 was founded when Mitch Suss, a business executive with family and friends who suffered from obesity, realized that the national obesity epidemic could not be cured by dieting alone. Knowing that the fragmentation of the weight-loss industry often led to poor results and significant patient frustration, Mitch was determined to come up with a multi-disciplinary solution. Mitch realized that every patient needs to be their own health care advocate, and only with the help of their physician in a multi-disciplinary approach could obesity be improved.

When you ask questions, you get answers;
when you ask better questions, you get better answers.

"When you ask questions, you get answers; when you ask better questions, you get better answers" is the motto that Mitch emphasizes and that patients adopt to empower themselves to better overall health. Focus28 was born from this concept: the idea that success in weight loss and lifestyle changes could be best achieved through a team oriented, one-stop shopping approach and that individuals can take charge of their lives through asking the right questions.

"This approach has worked for top organizations like Wal-Mart and Home Depot," says Mitch. "I do not see why it would not be successful for weight loss."

Recently, Focus28 began working with Stacey Halprin, who was so impressed by the Focus28 approach and team dedication that she agreed to become their national spokesperson. Bariatic surgery helped Stacey Halprin triumph over her own personal struggle with obesity. She is now the author of Winning After Losing.

A final important detail regarding Focus28 was inspired by Mitch's daughter, Dana, who campaigned that every client should be given the opportunity to help others by donating a percentage of Focus28 profit to professional weight-loss organizations and worldwide charities, including those that target the prevention of childhood obesity. This concept brings Mitch's own theme full-circle – to provide to others the program for weight loss, wellness, and preventative health via the four-pronged approach symbolized by Focus28 in order to better achieve and maximize success.
