Laura Preston has recently joined the Focus28 family as our National Spokesperson and National Director of Sales. She has fought the battle with obesity her whole life, with her highest weight being 365 lbs, and underwent gastric bypass surgery on March 2, 2005 in White Plains, New York with Dr. Phillip Weber. Laura’s life has since changed dramatically, and she’s proud to be devoted to an aftercare program filled with nutrition and fitness.

Over the past 19 years, Laura has worked and participated in all four pillars of the Focus28 concept: nutrition, fitness, image and empowerment. Her personal Bariatric experience has left her with an extensive knowledge of bariatric nutritional needs. Laura has also become a fitness fanatic. She’s been working with Life Time Fitness and is currently seeking her certifications in Personal Training and Group Exercise. She revamped her image, studied fashion merchandising and has worked with industry leaders such as Marshall Fields, Macy’s, Saks 5th Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. Laura has also worked within the beauty industry as a Vice President of Sales with companies such as Paula Dorf, DDF – Doctor’s Dermatological Formula – and as Regional Sales Manager for Trish McEvoy. Her personal goal is to be the person she wishes she could have met when she was first starting out on her bariatric journey. With her desire to empower and educate others on how to find success and achieve their weight-loss goals, there is truly no one better suited to be the face of Focus28.

Laura currently lives in Michigan and has had the privilege to be a motivational speaker for Obesity Help earlier in 2008, and is a certified support group leader. Her approach to life is to live it one day at a time and to face all the daily detours head-on.
